Dunfillan/Dunfillayne, was next door to Ardfillayne. It was owned by the Robertson Bros.,founders of the Gemline Shipping.It was destroyed by fire shortly after the war when it was owned by a Miss mcNish. Then Alex. McDougall,Joiner in John St. ,rebuilt the house as Tor-na-Dee. this was also burnt down & several houses are being built on the site.
Tor Aluin was burnt down & several houses are now on the site. The house was used as a base durinf the war.
The pub in Moir St. is at present called The Clansman.

James married Margaret McLean, daughter of Archibald McLean and Anne Leitch, on 22 Apr 1845 in East Parish, Greenock, Renfrewshire. (Margaret McLean was born on 31 Dec 1819 in Chapelton, Toward, Argyll, died on 23 Aug 1889 in Belmont Lane, Argyll and was buried in 1889 in Dunoon Cemetery.)
